The career successes of Sam Foti have made him a star in the business community. The story of his career started with an admission in the prestigious Wharton School of Business in Pittsburgh, Penn. He graduated in 1974 and immediately went for a law degree at the Oxford University. Realizing it was not his cup of tea; he left the program in 1975 and took admission in the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. His majors were finance and investments and he graduated in 1977; he also earned the title of Chartered Life Underwriter around that time.

 

Samuel J. Foti started his career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and quickly ascended the corporate leadership; he was a vice president when left the company for MONY’s in 1988. In a period of six years, he earned the position of the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company and has retained this title since then. He played an important role in the acquisition of U.S. Financial Life Insurance Co. and Trusted Advisors Inc., among others.

 

His experience in acquisition came handy when AXA Financial decided to buy the company.  Samuel Foti  entered into deals and contracts with AXA that resulted in a profitable buy-out and retaining of a significant number of MONY’s workforce.
